Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Ophthalmology Call Center Representative to join our team. This role involves managing patient communications efficiently and professionally, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting our clinical staff through effective call management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for healthcare support.
Duties
- Handle incoming calls from patients, providers, and insurance companies with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits accurately within our electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Provide information regarding ophthalmologic services, insurance procedures, and patient inquiries clearly and effectively.
- Assist patients with data entry tasks related to their medical records and appointment details.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all communications in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support the clinical team by relaying messages and coordinating patient flow efficiently.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to generate reports or manage administrative tasks as needed.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette, active listening, and problem-solving skills to ensure patient satisfaction.
Skills
- Proven experience in call center operations within healthcare or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare support procedures, including health insurance processes and medical terminology.
- Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone call management.
- Technical proficiency with computer systems, data entry accuracy, and analysis skills for reporting purposes.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle complex situations calmly and professionally.
- Familiarity with health insurance policies, billing procedures, and electronic health record (EHR) management practices is preferred.
