Description:Job Title: US Policy and Advocacy 2026 Summer Legal Associate (Assisted Reproduction) Department: US Policy and Advocacy Team The Job: The US Policy and Advocacy Team is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and highly organized law student summer associate with a commitment to state policy and reproductive rights to engage in a variety of projects to support the Center’s US state level work on assisted reproduction, with particular focus on ensuring non-discriminatory, equitable access to fertility care. This position will provide the successful candidate with experience in the day-to-day operations of a public interest law organization with a dynamic in-house policy and advocacy team. The summer legal associate will have opportunities to participate in legislative tracking, legal research and legislative analysis, and coalition advocacy. The summer legal associate position is full-time for up to 10 weeks. It will be hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days working remotely) in a Center office, with a preference for N.Y., although D.C. placement may be possible.Primary Responsibilities: The scope of the summer legal associate role will include, but is not limited to: Monitoring, tracking, and analyzing state legislation and other state policy developments related to assisted reproduction and other reproductive rights issues, including abortion and maternal health; Supporting the Center’s state-level work related to fertility care and assist with other state legislative efforts by creating policy and advocacy materials, including bill summaries and analyses for use in technical assistance, outreach, and other activities; Conducting legal research, citation checks for public-facing materials, and preparing memos on newly enacted laws; Working with members of the US Policy and Advocacy team on additional legislative, advocacy, and research projects. Compensation: Summer Legal Associates are highly encouraged to seek outside funding for their placement. The Center will supplement external funding to bring all Associates to our pay rate of $7,000 for the 10-week program. FLSA Exempt Status: This is a non-exempt position.
