What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Center for Reproductive Medicine?

The Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) has been a leader in treating fertility patients in Central Florida since 1985. Combining decades of experience with state-of-the-art technology, CRM has achieved some of the highest pregnancy rates in the southeast. CRM is also known for providing compassionate patient care & individualized treatment plans. We have an immediate opening for a qualified Phlebotomist to fill a full-time position at our Celebration location. This is an exciting and challenging position with a practice that continues to grow.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am- 3:30 pm. Weekend and holiday rotation will be required.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality, including files and records.

  • Print testing requisitions.

  • Follow the schedule and perform tests ordered according to schedule and lab requisition.

  • Label each specimen tube with the appropriate identifiers: patient name, DOB, date and time of collection, ID number, and initials. Label each tube using EMR to print barcode/label. Package and ship specimens when necessary.

  • Process blood specimens according to testing requirements appropriate to the lab where testing is performed.

  • Handle biohazard materials.

  • Perform sanitation, stocking, and cleaning of exam rooms.

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills. This position requires independent judgment as well as the ability to work closely with a team of clinicians. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills; capable of multi-tasking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; computer and telephone skills required. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be customer service driven. Previous medical office experience is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Phlebotomy Certification Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
