JOB SUMMARY
Center For Positive Changes (CFPC) is a 6-bed, Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), committed to evaluating and addressing children, adolescent, and transitional age youth’s unique behavioral health needs. We are seeking a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) to join our clinical team who has high ethical standards and a desire to positively impact the lives of youth and families involved with Child Welfare Services and the Juvenile Justice System. The MHRS provides Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) to educate and coach youth and families on using healthy social / emotional skills to more effectively cope with life stressors, in efforts to aid youth in successfully transitioning to a lower level of care. Using a trauma-informed and strength-based lens, the MHRS implements clinical direction from the Head of Service (HOS) to treat youth with co-occurring disorders including mental health, substance use, physical health, developmental, and intellectual challenges. In collaboration with the Head of Service (HOS), using a recovery-oriented approach, the MHRS works closely with CFPC residential staff, social workers, probation officers, and other significant support people in each youth’s life to provide appropriate treatment and coordination of care.
Qualifications:REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A qualified candidate must meet requirements for one (1) or more of the following:
1. Master’s degree or PhD AND at least two (2) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
OR
2. Bachelor’s degree AND at least four (4) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
OR
3. Associate’s Arts degree AND at least six (6) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
