We are a group consisting of 4 Plastic Surgery Attending’s and currently one surgical and outpatient based PA. We are looking for a PA with OR experience (preferred) who would also be able to see patients in a growing outpatient area of the practice. There is a significant amount of autonomy but always working in surgery closely with all of the surgeons. You will also get adequate training from the current PA on the position duties and expectations.
This position offers a highly competitive salary, full benefits, retirement package, CME allowance, allocation for credentialing/licensure, and malpractice. There is an annual bonus structure along with annual raise potential.
Professional responsibilities for this position include 70% operating and taking care of daily peri-operative orders, rounding, and discharges. We specialize in autologous and reconstructive breast surgery following a cancer operation. 90% of cases are outpatient procedures, but our DIEP flap reconstruction stay 2-3 days in the hospital and will be rounded on daily by the PA staff. The PA first assists in all of the cases both cosmetic and reconstructive with all of our attending physicians. Competency in complex suturing is strongly recommended. You would be required to have a PA license in DC, MD, and VA with respective credentials in all facilities in which we operate throughout the DMV.
30% of your time would be spent seeing outpatients in our newly developed Metabolic Aesthetics practice providing cutting edge peptide therapy, cellular medicine, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. All training and necessary certifications will be provided and continuing education will be once to twice a year by attending conferences. This is a rapidly growing aspect of the practice and would be an excellent skill set to learn on the job.
