What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist position at Center for Pediatric Therapy?
Join a pediatric therapy team where your ideas, clinical skills, and professional growth matter.
Center for Pediatric Therapy is seeking Speech-Language Pathologists for school-based and outpatient clinic opportunities. Whether you are an experienced CCC-SLP or a Clinical Fellow with a strong pediatric background, we would love to learn what you are looking for in your next role.
At CPT, we support children where they live, learn, and play. Our therapists work with children, families, educators, and colleagues to build communication skills that make a difference in everyday life.
Why Join CPT?
- A positive, collaborative team: Work alongside speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who value shared ideas and individualized care.
- Mentorship and professional development: Continue building your clinical skills in an environment committed to supporting therapist growth.
- School and clinic opportunities: Explore available assignments that align with your experience and clinical interests.
- Meaningful relationships: Partner with families and educators to help children carry their progress beyond therapy.
- Well-equipped outpatient clinics: Provide care in pediatric spaces with a strong emphasis on sensory integration and interdisciplinary collaboration.
What You Will Do
- Conduct individualized speech-language evaluations and assessments.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and contribute to IEPs, as appropriate to the assignment.
- Provide engaging, evidence-based therapy tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment approaches to support meaningful outcomes.
- Educate and collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and other providers.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation and billing.
- Contribute to a supportive team through clear communication and collaboration.
Schedule and Productivity
School-based and outpatient clinic opportunities are available. Clinic assignments require availability during late-afternoon and early-evening hours.
Therapists are expected to maintain 80% direct-care productivity, calculated against total working hours. For a 40-hour workweek, this represents 32 hours of direct patient care, with the remaining time used for documentation, planning, meetings, and other responsibilities.
What You Bring
- Connecticut Speech-Language Pathologist licensure appropriate to your role.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or eligibility to begin a Clinical Fellowship with appropriate supervision.
- Pediatric experience preferred. Clinical Fellows with strong pediatric clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for supporting children and families.
Compensation and Professional Growth
CPT offers a salary and benefits package, along with mentorship, continuing education opportunities, and professional development support. We welcome a conversation about your experience, interests, and the opportunities available.
