Billing Specialist (On-site position) 

Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Great Falls 

Position Overview:

Complete all client billing and perform a variety of routine and non-routine clerical duties.  Required knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and all applicable private insurance billing procedures. Responsible for staying current with State, Federal, and other insurance regulations for all payers. Maintain tables in the billing system software with current regulation and price changes. 

Job Duties:

  • Prepare, review, and submit claims for all agency programs.
  • Monitor claim status, identify and resolve denials, rejections, and underpayments in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with clients and insurance companies to ensure timely payment and resolution of claims.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports, prioritize and complete follow-up activities.
  • Contact clients regarding outstanding balances in a professional, respectful, and confidential manner.
  • Establish, document, and monitor payment plans in accordance with agency policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing concerns and improve collections.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and agency policies governing medical billing, confidentiality, and financial practices.
  • Identify and make recommendations to streamline billing processes and improve collections.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required; one year of medical billing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical billing is essential for this position. 
  • Familiarity with medical billing software programs.  
  • Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel and intermediate data entry and computation. 
  • Analytical skills with a strong ability of organization and detail. 
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines. 
  • Medical terminology preferred. 
  • ICD-10 and CPT knowledge preferred.
  • Respect confidentiality of information laws and local ethics. 
  • Experience with Cerner billing software is a plus.

Wage = $17.55 DOE
