DESCRIPTION:
Perform duties of a Receptionist that include: providing information and referral, answering multi-line phone system, greeting consumers/non-consumers, administrative project task support to the ADA Paratransit program. Sorting and distributing mail, assisting with scanning, copying, filing, and typing correspondence letters.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ø Provide information and referral to consumers/non-consumers and assist or direct them as necessary.
Ø Maintain and update information and referral sources.
Ø Refer consumers to the appropriate program and employee that is responsible for services if not able to help consumer answering all possible questions first.
Ø Administrative task support to the ADA paratransit program: assessment and triage of ADA consumer questions and issues who call/walk in to the center, ADA data entry into Smartsheet forms, fax professional verifications, provide application status for consumers, research new addresses for non-deliverable mail. In order to provide excellent customer/consumer service, conduct warm transfers only to the ADA team.
Ø Effectively communicate with consumers, staff and the public in a friendly and respectful manner. Answer and greet consumers as they enter the CIL. Inform staff that their appointment has arrived.
Ø Sort and distribute mail to the appropriate employee.
Ø Type correspondence and participate in ad-hoc projects, as assigned.
Ø Responsible for accurate and timely data entry, as assigned.
Ø Assist with office/clerical assignments, such as copying, filing, and typing.
Ø Maintain accurate documentation of services and logs.
Ø Provide five core services: Information and Referral, Advocacy, Independent Living Skills, Peer Support and Transition to increase the consumer’s independence.
Ø Comply with all CILNCF policies and procedures.
Ø Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ø Troubleshoot conflicts and concerns with potentially distressed consumers.
Ø Maintain a clean environment in Main Lobby and Reception Area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Personable and at ease with persons with disabilities.
Ability to use a multi-line phone system.
Ability to communicate effectively with consumers and non-consumers.
Experience working with persons with disabilities.
Demonstrated ability of good oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain rapport with others.
Ability to work with staff and consumers on a cross-disability basis.
