The University of Denver is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Club Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach to lead our Club Men's Lacrosse team for the 2026-2027 season. This position requires an experienced coach with a strong background in lacrosse and experience coaching at a high level. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, disciplined, and motivating environment to help student-athletes reach their full potential.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for this position is $20.00-$25.00.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Travel to away games, 2-3 weekly evening practices and weekends for games.
- Ability to coach from September to end of March (no coaching during summer or winter break)
- Plan and execute effective and productive practices and game plans.
- Coordinate with other coaches and set goals (shooting percentage, goals per game, assist-to-turnover ratio)
- Lead practice planning, film study, scouting and game preparation
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive training environment for all athletes, ensuring adherence to team and university standards.
- Develop seasonal training plans, prepare athletes for competition, and provide strategic coaching to help the club achieve their goals
- Promote a positive team culture and encourage sportsmanship, discipline, and accountability among club members.
- Maintain effective communication with the Club Sports Manager and other relevant university staff.
- Abide by the University of Denver club coaching policies and guidelines.
- Attend mandatory coach meetings with the Club Sports Manager and any other required trainings.
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster team spirit, motivate athletes and conflict resolution skills.
- Knows how to balance fun with competitiveness and wants the players to enjoy their experience on the team.
- Passion for working with athletes
- Prior coaching experience
- Strong lacrosse background
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)
- CDC Heads Up Concussion Training Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, and availability to work evenings (3pm-10pm) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) based on theteam's training and competition schedule.
- Three or more years of prior coaching experience
- This position will average 10-15 hrs/week.
- Evenings (3pm-10pm) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Able to commit to traveling to away games, 2-3 weekly practices each week in the evenings and weekends for games.
- Ability to coach from September to end of May (no coaching during summer or winter break).
