Position Summary
The Support Teacher supports the CHS mission by assisting in implementing developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom that support children’s development and ensure health and safety.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities by supporting children’s social,
- Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, by consistently applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and EHS Performance Standards
- Commit to the success of the program by maintaining Infant Toddler CPR and First Aid certification, helping prepare materials and classrooms for early care and learning, maintaining ratios while providing coverage in the classroom and supporting general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events.
- Follow regulatory compliance by attending meetings and trainings as required by CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP and EHS requirements.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned area by performing general tasks such as but not limited to laundry and common area cleaning and follows guidelines in food preparation and cleaning procedures
- Responsible for promoting a positive Safety Culture by following established safe work practices and policies.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- The ability to demonstrates strong working knowledge of HS Performance Standards, MO Childcare Licensing, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and sanitation regulations and requirements, developmentally appropriate practices

- Travel as needed for meetings, training, or conferences
- The employee is occasionally required to use hands to operate a computer.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (GED/HiSET)
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of Paycom platform, ChildPlus, MO kitchen sanitation regulations, Head Start Performance standards.
- Medical exam and TB Assessment is required prior to hire and again every 5 years
- Background screening to include fingerprinting is required prior to hire and again every 5 years
