What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Center for Human Development?
The Center for Human Development, CHD, is currently seeking a full-time Program Assistant Manager for Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) program, located in Chicopee, MA. Our CBDS program provides support to adults 22 years and older with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. We provide 1:1 support and group services.
Your role as an Assistant Manager:
The CBDS Program Assistant Manager works as part of a team to coordinate the participant’s schedule with the CBDS management team. We utilize community resources to ensure program participants receive quality services that focus on their strengths to meet their preferences and needs. S/he provides case management work, 1:1 support and group facilitation of different forms to assist a participant in the program. The Day Program Assistant Manager helps each participant to explore their purpose and develop a greater sense of self, develop a healthier lifestyle, and integrate into community roles. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises staff to ensure appropriate service delivery
- Supporting clients' activities of daily living
- Develop professional and supportive relationships with clients and provide informal counseling and guidance with a person-centered focus.
- Interacts with clients in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits, and encourage growth and development while monitoring safety
- Understands, follows/implements all client ISP’s and documents progress
- Provides thorough orientation of all new staff
Requirements and preferences include:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with population served.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Reliable vehicle and ability to pass driving record check
- Approved criminal background check (CORI)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer use
- CPR, First Aid and MAP certification required
Schedule is full time, 40hrs a week – Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
