Position Overview

This role is a 30 hour per week position which requires evening shifts and Saturdays. Candidate must commit to evening shifts and Saturdays. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teen Activity Center Program Manager to lead our teen-focused initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in recreation, youth programming, or a related field, and a strong understanding of the Fort Collins community and the organizations that support teen development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Management: Create, plan, and oversee engaging programs and activities tailored to teens, ensuring a mix of recreation, leadership, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Oversight: Recruit, mentor, and collaborate with teen leaders to empower their voices in shaping the center’s programming.
  • Supervision & Staff Management: Recruit, train, and oversee Youth Activity Coordinators, fostering leadership and professional development among young employees.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, and youth-focused groups to expand outreach and partnerships.
  • Event Planning: Organize and facilitate teen-focused events, workshops, and recreational activities.
  • Facility & Safety Management: Ensure the center is a safe, welcoming space for teens by overseeing daily operations and maintaining facility needs.
  • Marketing & Outreach: Promote programs through social media, local events, and direct outreach to increase teen participation.
  • Grant Writing & Fundraising Support: Assist in securing funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships to support programming initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Youth Development, Education, or a related field (preferred but not required with relevant experience).
  • Experience working with teens in a leadership or program development role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Fort Collins area and the organizations that serve youth.
  • Ability to engage and mentor young people while fostering an inclusive and positive environment.
  • Strong connection, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and some Saturdays for programming and events.
