What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Analyst position at Center for Employment Training?
Under the supervision of Director of Accounts Receivable perform the following duties in the area of accounts receivable and collections department:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (May include but is not limited to the following):Provide assistance and direction to accounts receivable staff for collections purposes.Identify and resolve problems related to effective delivery of accounts receivable and student’s ledger accounts and collections with centers and corporate personnel and other agencies.Responsible for the reconciliations of students as well as funding agencies accounts and perform collections for such accounts.Initiate collection letters and coordinate with center directors and Financial Aid staff on necessary action to resolve the overdue accounts on withdrew students.Follow up with center directors and Financial Aid staff for early settlement of account due.Evaluate account status and coordinate action to be taken with outside collection agency.Reconcile inventories of accounts from outside collections agencies with CET student’s records.Follow-up with outside collections agencies with any discrepancies.Run, review, generate and mail out monthly ST Billings with letters to students with tuition balance.Support billing accountant on preparing billings to all funding agencies, and act as backups during Billing Accountants absence. This includes monitoring interface of MIS/CMIS Oracle systems, running auto invoices, create customer and contracts, reconciliation of all group billing contracts, and doing month end closing.Communicate with Internal and External customers via phone, emails, mail or in personRun and review aging report for open accounts collectionsPrepare monthly forecast on collection activitiesMake collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relationsRequest and process write-off accountsMaintain a worksheet for the lists of customers with open accountsUnderstanding and be able to perform reconciliation of Student Ledger cards to the accounts receivable module.Complete understanding of accounts receivable functions and GL interface.Assist in cash receipts/applications tasks.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:Good and solid understanding of accounting principle in general.Familiar with GL interface and accounts reconciliationsUnderstanding of Accounts Receivable and Collections functions and familiar with non-profit center organizations.Familiar with non-profit accounting systems (preferred).Knowledge of computerized accounting system. Oracle operating systems (a Plus).Knowledge of Windows based applications, Excel & Microsoft Word (must).Excellent communication skills.Detail oriented and very organized.Be flexible and meet deadlines.Spanish speaking a plusEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field orAn AA degree with five (5) years of accounting experience.Five (5) years of experience in accounting or a similar field or a combination of experience, education and training related to the essential duties.Good and solid understanding of accounting principles.Experience working with persons of diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.LICENSE AND CERTIFICATE:Use of a personal or company vehicle for CET business may be necessary in the performance of assigned duties such as attending meetings and events, recruiting, transporting students, picking up materials, and running errands.The Human Resources Department may request copies of a valid driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance upon being hired and annually thereafter.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:CET will consider and hire qualified applicants without discrimination. Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
