What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCHOOL SAFETY SPECIALIST position at Center for Creative Education?

Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Answer telephone, screen, and direct calls to the appropriate staff.

Provide accurate information to visitors, and members of the public.

Professionally greet visitors, screen them through the Visitor Management System (VMS), and control authorized
access while maintaining security awareness. -
Monitor and track all movements in and out of building to ensure safety and security.

Identify and report any safety or security issues to the Director of Operations, and/or Chief Compliance Officer, and
assist in resolving issues when within scope. -
Observes student behavior before, during and after school hours to maintain order, report any disturbances to the
Director of Operations and/or the Head of School. -
Assist school staff with monitoring and order during daily activities, e.g., hall monitor, lunchroom duty, bus
arrival/departure, and dismissal. -
Manage visitor access through the Visitor Management System (VMS). Monitor logs and maintain accurate
records. -
Receive, open, log, and distribute incoming mail appropriately.

Operates school bus on assigned route(s) by picking up or dropping off students, following all safety and signaling
procedures. -
Instruct students in the safe and proper methods of boarding and departing from the bus.

Create, schedule, and oversee fire drill practices for the school.

Address student behavior issues during bus transportation; prepare incident reports as needed
-
Prepare monthly reports on bus maintenance, operations, and incidents.

Maintains a clean, organized, and professional reception area.

Assists Director of Operations with compliance matters, including licenses, deliverables, drills, safety
documentation, and public safety standards. -
Assist in developing safety policies, drills, and emergency response procedures with the Director of Operations
and s all the accreditation standards for safety and security. -
Assist the Director of Operations, Head of School, and Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with
licenses, deliverables, drills, safety and security documentation, emergency policies, plans, and procedures that
meet all accreditation requirements.” -
Other general duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED. (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)

Valid Driver License
-
No violation tickets for the last 2 years.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customer service or security
-
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
-
Knowledge of computers and relevant software application especially MS Office Suite
-
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
-
Must successfully pass Level II background check.
-
Must be cleared through E-Verify with Homeland Security to work in the United States.
-
Must complete and pass the Child Abuse Reporting Training Certificate issued by the Florida Department of
Children and Families (DCF).
