Job Summary: Support the Project Director along with other key project staff with the day-to-day oversight of program operations, including recovery services, peer leadership, and related training, and program reporting. Utilize Recovery Coaching/Peer Mentoring skills to demystify treatment and help participants access treatment and negotiate insurance barriers. Support individuals in the community who are in recovery to avoid some of the collateral consequences of their past criminal justice involvement. Screen for substance use disorders, and make referrals to behavioral, physical, or mental health supportive services as needed. Requires evening and weekend hours, as determined by CCA/CORE Centers’ schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Screen individuals interested in CORE Center activities and events. Ensure eligibility requirements are met. Provide referrals to community-based organizations/agencies. Follow up on the status of referrals.
  • Maintain data as required and issue reports as requested, including entering data into CCA’s Quick Base database.
  • In conjunction with CORE Center’s key project staff oversee the development and implementation of an outreach plan to recruit and retain individuals as members/peer leaders of the CORE Center.  Ensure timely survey of members
  • Oversee training and support of CORE Center members. Monitor participants’ recovery status and ensure that services provided are helping sustain their recovery, making home and community visits as necessary.
  • Along with the Project Director and Deputy Director, ensure the accomplishment of goals, objectives, and deliverables required by NYS OASAS funding and for all CORE Center activities and services
  • Facilitate peer leadership training modules/curriculum and support peers in the delivery of services.
  • Attend community stakeholder meetings on behalf of the CORE Center when requested
  • Offer presentations to community groups and testify at public hearings and community forums on issues related to the goals and objectives of the CORE Center as needed.
  • Assist with project data collection and timely completion of program reports to funders. Maintain data as required and issue reports as requested.
  • Complete required paperwork as assigned
  • Attend training programs, as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director or Deputy Director.
Qualifications:
  • CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, CRC, or AAMFT (QHP status preferred).
  • Associate's Degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of community resources, existing network of behavioral health providers, and confidentiality regulations.
  • Commitment to and experience in working with adults with diverse cultural backgrounds who are involved, or at risk of involvement, with the criminal/juvenile justice system, HIV/AIDS, substance use, mental health concerns, or gambling harms.
  • Personal experience with recovery (3 years or more of sustained recovery, i.e., lived experience) and/or past criminal justice involvement strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy (word processing, e-mail, internet research, data entry) required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Requires evening and weekend hours as determined by OASAS, CCA/CORE Centers’ guidelines, possess a valid NYS Driver’s License, reliable transportation to transport participants, and appropriate level of auto insurance as required by CCA i.e., $100,000, $300,000, $100,000 personal auto insurance coverage.
