Salary: $43,260 - $48,668The Center for Aquaculture Technologies, a private aquaculture innovation and research company, is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Aquaculture Technician to assist with shrimp husbandry & rearing, maintenance of recirculation water systems and general wet lab maintenance and upkeep. This is a full-time, permanent position and will begin with the successful candidate reporting to the Facility Manager.Position: Aquaculture Technician I: $43,260 - $48,668Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain populations of shrimpPerform aquatic husbandry duties such as feeding, spawning, transfers and gradingAssess and adjust water chemistry parametersOperate recirculation water system equipmentCollect, sort, and transfer of shrimp eggsDaily micro-algae care and maintenanceDaily larval care of small batches of research shrimpCommunicate and update the supervisor and the R&D research teamAssist with hatchery organization and clean up as directedAssist with aquatic system maintenance, improvement, and building projects as assignedMust adhere to workplace safety protocols and comply with company health and safety guidelinesMay be able to participate in an On-Call schedule for after-hours facility alarmsQualifications and requirementsDrivers licenseExcellent communication skillsHighly motivated and attentiveAble to work independentlyAble to work Saturdays and SundaysPreferred:Previous experience with aquatic animal care/husbandryKnowledge of basic plumbing skillsBackground in marine science or biologyCommitment toCATs Core Purpose:Dedication to and passion for CATs core purpose:We are driven by the transformative potential of aquaculture.To feed the world, support the environment, and sustain the planet.Our purpose is to unlock this potential.
