What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Reading Interventionist (Early November – Late January) position at Center City Public Charter Schools?

The Reading Interventionist will provide small-group and individualized literacy instruction to students performing below grade level. This role is critical in helping students strengthen their reading skills and confidence during this temporary coverage period.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering targeted reading interventions aligned to research-based practices.
  • Using assessment data to plan and adjust instruction to accelerate student growth.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to support literacy across content areas.
  • Documenting student progress and providing updates to teachers and families.
  • Supporting a positive, inclusive, and engaging school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required).
  • Reading specialist certification or significant experience in literacy instruction (preferred).
  • Knowledge of phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary strategies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
