POSITION / PURPOSE:
The Vice President, National Leasing is responsible for the execution of the national/regional/local retail leasing strategy. This executive is expected to build and maintain relationships with key clients, tenant-brokerages, and the greater real estate community. This individual will have direct oversight of the entire leasing process, (including, but not limited to) generation of initial prospect interest, tenant qualification, lease negotiation and document execution, interface with Owner/Partners, and interface with other Centennial disciplines.
PRINCIPAL JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Establish and maintain strong knowledge, awareness and understanding of the market’s dynamics. Exercise clear leadership and focus in such areas as market conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions and related matters
- Oversee all commercial leasing operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results, are consistent with the investment strategies and are in line with the mission of the firm
- Develop a national in-house leasing business plan that is aligned with Centennial’s short-term and long-term corporate objectives
- Develop a Leasing department level budget, in line with division and corporate objectives
- Foster and maintain meaningful relationships with Centennial’s local brokerage and prospect community to maximize property exposure in the marketplace
- Lead and work with local property teams to achieve the leasing goals of each asset
- Remain abreast of comparable properties, their pricing and competitive positions, to maximize occupancy and financial performance of company’s properties relative to the competition
- Participate in the acquisition due diligence process including but not limited to: market data analysis, leasing rates, marketing strategy and leasing velocity
- Develop/review/analyze department and asset level financial and non-financial reports
- Mentor, guide and coach in-house professionals to expand their capabilities within Centennial Real Estate. Ensure that the most effective individuals and teams with the appropriate skills are available to develop and execute strategies
- Oversee the work of leasing staff including assignment of work, setting performance expectations and providing timely and accurate feedback
- Serve as the primary oversight of relationships with tenant brokers

Qualifications:REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. An MBA or other advanced degree in real estate or operations concentration is highly desirable. 5 years of leasing experience.
- Real estate license or broker license preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite; Yardi Retail Manager experience a plus
- Extensive experience working with institutional clients with a knowledge of development, property management, asset sales, contract negotiations, gross and/or net leasing, re-positioning, real estate valuation metrics, and risk management strategies
- Strong negotiating skills including ability to effectively influence others
- Strong credibility in the local market, with the ability to recruit and retain key talent
- An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills

- Work is typically performed in an office environment, but this position will be required to travel to meet with prospective retails, attend ICSC conferences, Centennial related matters and occasional interface with Partners.

Salary : $175,000 - $200,000
