The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise within a warehouse or distribution center. This role ensures efficient handling of goods while maintaining safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas.
- Move products to designated storage locations.
- Stack and organize pallets and inventory properly.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and labeling.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous warehouse or forklift experience (typically 1-2 years preferred).
- Basic math and inventory tracking skills.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
