Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Part-Time) Bakersfield, CA

Position Overview

C.E.N.M. Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dependable Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support diagnostic imaging services in Bakersfield, California. In this role, you will perform nuclear medicine procedures that directly support timely diagnosis and excellent patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is clinically sharp, safety-driven, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

This is a part-time position (approximately 24-40 hours per week) with scheduling based on facility needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
  • Operate nuclear medicine equipment (Gamma Camera/SPECT; PET experience is a plus if applicable)
  • Apply appropriate radiation safety practices and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Conduct quality control (QC) and routine checks on imaging equipment and documentation of results
  • Review images for clarity, accuracy, and completeness prior to submission for interpretation
  • Communicate effectively with patients by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the exam
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and clinical teams to ensure smooth workflow and patient care
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times


Qualifications / Requirements

  • Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist credential/license as required by California and the facility
  • ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB certification (required/preferred depending on facility standards)
  • Minimum 1 year of nuclear medicine clinical experience preferred (strong new grads may be considered based on skill level)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, instrumentation, radiation safety, and radiopharmaceutical handling
  • Professional communication skills and strong patient care presence
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work independently


Schedule & Job Type

  • Part-Time
  • Approximately 24/40 hours per week
  • Schedule may include weekdays and may vary based on facility coverage needs


Compensation

  • Competitive hourly pay (commensurate with experience)
