Pipeline Construction Superintendent
Location: Alpine, AK
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Work Arrangement: Onsite (North Slope Rotation Schedule)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Construction Superintendent to oversee field construction activities for a large-scale pipeline and powerline program in Arctic conditions. This role provides leadership to construction coordinators and contractors, ensures safe and efficient execution of work, and supports the delivery of a major pipeline construction program. The Superintendent will manage one of two work fronts and is responsible for daily progress monitoring, safety performance, and effective contractor coordination.
Ideal candidates will have extensive pipeline construction experience, strong field leadership capability, and prior exposure to remote or Arctic project environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning
- Develop and finalize annual pipeline construction execution plans.
- Prepare Construction Readiness checklists for each winter and summer campaign.
- Review engineering drawings, permits, stipulations, and execution constraints.
- Identify field hazards, material shortages, and potential execution issues.
- Participate in constructability reviews and planning sessions.
- Support logistics planning related to camps, aviation, equipment, transportation, fuel, material delivery, and laydown areas.
Execution
- Lead Construction Readiness processes and weekly planning meetings.
- Ensure company and contractor deliverables are complete, reviewed, and documented.
- Oversee daily field operations to meet scope, schedule, cost, quality, and HSE standards.
- Monitor contractor performance using KPIs and drive improvements.
- Conduct progress and performance review meetings with contractors and project leadership.
- Manage interfaces between multiple construction contractors across the work front.
- Support SIMOPS coordination with Drilling, Completions, and Operations teams.
- Maintain alignment with approved execution strategies and project milestones.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Lead field HSE engagement and ensure full compliance with company safety requirements.
- Conduct jobsite walkdowns and review contractor JHA/THA documents.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and reinforce safe work practices.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory permit stipulations.
- Facilitate Predictive Indicator meetings to evaluate safety behaviors and performance.
- Support Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs and Incident Free Culture (IFC) initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of pipeline construction experience.
- 7 years of construction supervision or construction management.
- Proven ability to deliver large construction projects safely and successfully.
- Experience managing multiple contractors and coordinated field operations.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work on a North Slope rotational schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- 5 years of pipeline construction experience in Arctic conditions.
- Experience with capital project management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED required (with 7–10 years of relevant experience).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay: $40.00 - $47.00 per hour
