Responsibilities
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Responsible for the physical design of instruments, including electromechanical, fluidic and optical components.
- Collaborate with electronics and software engineers to integrate their efforts within the product development team.
- Develop prototypes for testing and conduct evaluations to identify design issues or opportunities for improvements.
- Document designs including 3D Models, Drawings and Assembly Procedures.
- Identify & troubleshoot problems through entire product life cycle.
- New Product Development & New Product Introduction
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (physics, applied math, electrical engineering, chemistry). Master’s Degree a plus.
- 10 Years as a mechanical engineer (or related) involved in the design of innovative electromechanical systems.
- Must have significant experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team, with a proven record of design innovation.
- Familiarity with 3-D CAD modeling is required; Creo Parametric experience is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will possess a high level of creativity to drive innovative solutions
- Communication skills are essential, along with the initiative to proactively interact with team members
- Systems-Level Thinking; acutely detail-oriented and organized, capable of maintain a high standard in design and documentation.
- Very strong technical and analytical abilities, combined with an inventive and resourceful mindset.
- Comfortable leading teams in the development of complex systems with a keen eye focus on design simplicity, manufacturability, and serviceability.
