Structural Engineer II

Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in structural and specialty engineering for the entertainment, hospitality, and aerospace industries, is hiring a Structural Engineer II for our Windermere, FL office.
This role is for a civil/structural engineer with several years of direct experience who is ready for greater independence in design, analysis, and fieldwork. You’ll manage portions of larger projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to complex solutions with opportunities to advance into senior technical or project leadership roles.
What You’ll Do
- Lead gravity and lateral system selection, layout, and detailed analysis and design, contributing to workflow planning and project delivery.
- Work with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to establish codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools; seismic analysis experience is a plus.
- Apply experience with steel and reinforced concrete while broadening skills with timber, masonry, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Develop creative design solutions, evaluate alternatives, and prepare/review calculations, drawings, reports, and BIM models (Revit).
- Perform inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, across all shifts as needed, and document findings.
- Support construction administration through site observation reports and coordination with project managers.
- Perform QA/QC reviews and progressively increase responsibility toward leading as an EOR.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
- Master’s degree with a structural emphasis (preferred).
- 5 years of recent, full-time structural design and engineering experience.
- Familiarity with IBC-style codes and U.S. national standards.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D preferred).
- Knowledge of BIM tools (Revit preferred).
- Engineer Intern (EI) required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
- Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking, initiative, and clear communication.
