Role Description This full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role is based in Kansas City, MO. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance across assigned residential communities, including apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing building systems, completing work orders, conducting unit turns, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment, mechanical systems, and common areas. The role also involves inspecting properties for safety and code compliance, coordinating with vendors, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting capital improvement projects as needed. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the property management team to ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained environments that enhance resident satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Maintenance & Repair and Equipment Maintenance skills to service building systems, residential units, and common areas.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of property assets.
- Effective Troubleshooting skills to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- General knowledge of HVAC, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair in a residential or multifamily setting.
- Ability to read work orders, follow safety procedures, and maintain organized records and inventory.
- Customer-focused communication skills and a professional, respectful approach when interacting with residents and team members.
- Dependability and flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies or on-call rotations as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are preferred but not required
