The expected base salary range for this position is $303,147 to $373,203.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and Planning: Develop and execute US Field Medical Affairs strategies and plans aligned with Global Medical Affairs strategy and corporate R&D goals.
- Serves as a core member of the Medical Affairs leadership team and contributes to development and evolution of Global Medical Affairs strategy.
- Partners with Medical Affairs leadership team to deliver and execute against Medical Affairs strategic and tactical plans, including Scientific Communications, Data Generation, and external engagement efforts.
- Translates Medical Affairs strategies to develop and implement integrated and actionable field-based medical plans in collaboration with Medical Affairs partners.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial to ensure strategic alignment and enhance Celldex scientific leadership from clinical trial delivery through commercial launch.
- Provides strategic insights and recommendations based on field medical insights.
- External Engagement and Relationship Management: Build relationships with KOLs, relevant therapeutic-area stakeholder groups, and healthcare systems.
- Establishes Field Medical Affairs territories and key networks. Supports development and refinement of KOL mapping initiatives and engagement strategies.
- Establishes framework for field medical affairs coverage, including KOLs, medical societies, patient advocacy groups, therapeutic areas networks, healthcare systems, and relevant stakeholder groups.
- Develops strategies to enhance engagement with investigators and sites to support awareness, recruitment, and execution of ongoing and future clinical trials.
- Develops engagement strategies with National, Regional, and Local KOLs and customers to identify advocates, speakers, and influencers. Identifies KOLs for involvement in Medical Affairs initiatives.
- Ensures the MSL team is equipped and prepared to effectively communicate scientific data and information to external stakeholders.
- Represents the company at scientific conferences, meetings, and other events.
- Evidence Generation and Communication: Ensure timely reporting, analysis, communication of field-generated insights and provide recommendations to inform clinical trial design, evidence planning, and scientific strategy.
- Assesses field medical insights to inform new publication opportunities, scientific content/resources, scientific response documents, and educational opportunities.
- Identifies and promotes implementation of novel engagement strategies to facilitate data generation opportunities and support of scientific research in the field. Facilitates appropriate support for investigator-initiated research, including feasibility assessment, proposal review, and data dissemination.
- Identifies and prioritizes critical field medical affairs insights to ensure that customer needs are addressed and business opportunities identified and realized.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Field Medical professionals and facilitate integration with home-office functions.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a team of Field MSLs across the US.
- Identifies, interviews, trains, builds and manages high-performance MSL team; provides support and strategic coverage to key customers as needed.
- Fosters a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Provides on-going coaching and talent development of direct reports and entire field medical team through assessment of competency and feedback from peers.
- Provide training on therapeutics (products/pipeline, disease states, competitors), compliance expectations, and effective communication techniques as well as company policies, standard operating procedures, and guidance documents.
- Plans, coordinates and executes regular national Field Medical team interactions to ensure a sense of community, outline priorities, provide strategic updates, conduct relevant training, and foster two-way dialogue with Field Medical team.
- Compliance and Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to company policies, laws, and regulations. Manage the budget for the National field Medical Affairs team and coordinate congress activities to ensure compliance.
- Ensure s all field activities comply with regulatory and company policies.
- Monitor s and report on field activities, performance metrics, and outcomes.
- Participates in discussions regarding the creation of departmental SOPs addressing processes and procedures necessary to achieve organizational objectives and for complying with government regulations and company policy. Ensures adherence to policies/procedures .
- Provide s guidance and counsel to field medical team to ensure that all activities are legally compliant and conducted according to Company policies, procedures and standards
- Data Analysis: Analyze field data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and adjust plans accordingly.
- Evaluate field team territory performance and monitor productivity/metrics, workload and outputs while ensuring compliance with policies and processes and addressing issues through corrective action process as they arise; report field team KPIs to Head of Medical Affairs
- Monitor performance of field medical team in terms of scientific expertise , credibility, quality of interactions, and benchmarking within competitive
- Gain insight s and feedback from the field team on medical and scientific resources and provide recommendations to key internal stakeholders .
- Ensure systems, processes, and enabling technology are in place to support field execution; assist field team with utilization of all technology requirements
- Advanced scientific/medical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent).
- 12 years in pharma/biotech, with 5–7 years in Field Medical Affairs leadership.
- Deep understanding of US immunology marketplace; allergy/dermatology experience preferred.
- Experience supporting clinical trials and commercialization.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory/compliance requirements for field medical activities.
- Experience with product launches in specialty categories.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Preference for candidates with experience in both small and large biotech/pharma.
- Commitment to patient-centric approaches and innovative medical strategies.
- Willingness to travel (40–60%, including some weekends).
