What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist (Primary Cells & Cell Biology) position at Cell Applications, Inc.?
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on scientist with a strong background in mammalian cell culture and cellular biology to join our R&D team.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel primary cell products, extracellular vesicle technologies, advanced cell culture systems, and related biological applications. This role is ideal for a scientist who enjoys developing new methods, solving technical challenges, and translating scientific discoveries into practical products and applications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Isolate, culture, characterize, expand, and cryopreserve primary cells from human and animal tissues
- Develop and optimize cell culture methodologies and related biological processes
- Develop and characterize exosome and extracellular vesicle (EV) products
- Generate, maintain, and optimize iPSC-derived cultures, 3D cell models, spheroids, and organoids
- Design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments with a high degree of independence
- Develop cell-based assays and related biological applications
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, protocols, and scientific documentation
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and perform work in accordance with established quality procedures
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess either:
- A PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field; or
- An MS degree with significant equivalent industry or research experience
Required Experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
- Experience isolating and culturing primary cells from human and/or animal tissues
- Strong understanding of cellular and molecular biology principles
- Experience independently designing, executing, and troubleshooting experiments
- Strong analytical, organizational, and scientific communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced research environment
Preferred Experience:
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- Stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- 3D cell culture, spheroids, and organoids
- Extracellular vesicles (EVs) and exosomes
- Flow cytometry and cell sorting
- Immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence
- PCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, or related molecular biology techniques
- Regenerative medicine, cell therapy, or tissue engineering applications
Demonstrated evidence of scientific accomplishment, innovation, productivity, and technical excellence is highly desirable.
