Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Shift CNC Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate CNC milling machines during the overnight shift, ensuring precision and efficiency in producing high-quality components. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading will be vital to maintaining our production standards. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate production according to blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Maintain machine calibration using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other mechanical tools
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to meet tolerances
- Handle materials using forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely within the manufacturing facility
- Perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and tooling setups
- Document production activities accurately in shift reports and communicate effectively with team members during handovers
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications with precision
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and measurements necessary for machining tasks
- Experience with factory safety protocols including forklift operation and materials handling procedures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to work independently during the night shift while maintaining high productivity levels
