Position Overview:
Celina City Schools is seeking a skilled and compassionate Intervention Specialist to serve students in grades 7–8 initially, with the potential to expand into grades 9–12, within a multi-categorical classroom setting. This role supports students with a range of needs, including but not limited to Other Health Impairments (OHI), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Caseloads are developed based on individual student needs, and the ideal candidate will be adept at addressing both academic and behavioral challenges in a structured, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Manage a multi-categorical classroom with diverse academic and behavioral needs
- Implement and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with consistency and fidelity
- Collect and analyze data, including ABC (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence) data, to inform instructional and behavioral decisions
- Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) into daily instruction
- Utilize effective de-escalation techniques and proactive behavior supports
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe required)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to diverse learner needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in trauma-informed care and student support
- Experience with Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Demonstrated ability in de-escalation strategies
- Experience consistently implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Knowledge and application of social-emotional learning (SEL) practices
- Experience collecting and using behavioral data (including ABC data) to guide instruction
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams
Compensation and Benefits:
