THIS POSITION IS TO WORK ONBOARD
The Entertainment Stage Staff is a member of the technical team responsible for the daily operation of the vessel’s alternative entertainment venues. This includes set up, operation, and tear down of all AV equipment including but not limited to sound desks, amps, speakers, microphones, cables, lighting equipment, projectors, screens, accessories, et cetera used in the vessel’s alternative entertainment venues. The Entertainment Staff as a whole are responsible for supporting and carrying out all production technical elements required to run the on-board live music program, Celebrity Activities, Production Theme Events, themed parties, game shows, group events, and more. In addition to the duties related to alternative entertainment venues, the Entertainment Staff are required to assist the Entertainment Operators in the main theater with follow spot operation, assist backstage during cast production shows, and stage resets as required by the Stage & Production Manager / Entertainment Technical Director and/or the Head Entertainment Operator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain brand and industry standards for production value in alternative entertainment venues (overall music/sound level, appropriate lighting level and color, appearance of performance space and equipment).
- Follow the daily written schedule. Ensure events and sets are beginning at the scheduled times published to the guests.
- Participate in the AV on Duty rotation with all Entertainment Staff as assigned by supervisors. Maintain professional and helpful conversations when responding to AV on Duty phone calls.
- Liaise with Stage & Production Manager and Activity Manager on creating standardized equipment lists and production value for all produced events in the alternative entertainment venues.
- Set up and operate produced events in the alternative entertainment venues as scheduled.
- Operate follow spot lights in the vessels main theater and adhere to Celebrity’s SQM and safety standards, as well as meet and maintain the artistic integrity of the produced theatrical shows.
- Assist the Entertainment Operators with stage reset when requested.
- Ensures music and lighting in all venues is aesthetically pleasing and appropriate by carrying out regular ship wide walks while scheduled as AV on Duty.
- Ensures all band sets look and sound great, start on time, are clean and do not have overused equipment.
- Participate in embark and debark duties as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in theater (focus in theater technology) from an accredited university or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in technical entertainment or theatrical settings, including audio, lighting, stage hand, or backstage work experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of sound systems set up, operation, and troubleshooting is required.
- Basic lighting knowledge, equipment, fixture focusing, recalling cues, et cetera.
- Working knowledge of computers (Windows and Mac) and connecting to external devices such as projectors and TV screens, and relevant troubleshooting.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment to meet overall established timeframes.
- Ability to communicate tactfully with coworkers and other shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.

Language Requirements
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and crew members.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must continually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may work at heights up to 50 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
