Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products throughout the store
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell complementary products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales volume
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure attractive presentation and easy product access
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and reporting low inventory levels
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including cash register reconciliation and safety checks
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual abilities are a plus)
- Experience supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally over the phone
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, setting up displays, and standing for extended periods
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products while maintaining a friendly, helpful attitude
