Responsibilities

• Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safe procedures for pets and staff
• Support veterinary procedures including surgery preparation, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques
• Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining clean treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards
• Handle front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and billing support
• Contribute to laboratory work by collecting samples, processing tests, and recording results accurately
• Maintain detailed medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments, medications, and procedures
• Support emergency critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and assisting with intensive animal care as needed

Skills

• Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary clinic experience; equine experience is a plus
• Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs and cats; familiarity with pet care routines
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior to assist effectively in clinical settings
• Experience with laboratory procedures, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques
• Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about animal welfare and treatment plans
• Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols
• Familiarity with record keeping systems and laboratory equipment used in veterinary practice
