Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Medical Affairs, the Senior Director of Scientific Strategy and Communications is responsible for the development and execution of a cohesive scientific communication strategy encompassing Medical Communications, Publications, Training, and Medical Information functions within Medical Affairs. Providing scientific and strategic expertise, insights, communications excellence and leadership, this position will play a critical role in the US launch and clinical use of Celcuity’s anticipated commercial product(s). The Senior Director is also responsible for strategic planning, execution of tactics targeting internal and external audiences in support of products and across product life cycle including data generation, data dissemination and addressing unmet medical education needs in a timely and clinically relevant way, in alignment with the overarching product strategy. The role will also oversee and manage communication and publications agencies and other outsourced work.
As a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership team, the Senior Director will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Development, Research, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory, Safety, PV and externally with KOLS, HCPs, vendors etc.
Responsibilities
Celcuity is a clinical-stage, publicly traded biotechnology company seeking to extend the lives of cancer patients through the development of targeted therapies for the treatment of multiple solid tumor indications. The company was founded to develop a better way to treat the cellular drivers of tumor growth.
Our lead therapeutic candidate, gedatolisib, is an intravenously administered, potential first-in-class PI3K/AKT/mTOR (PAM) pathway inhibitor. Its mechanism of action and pharmacokinetic properties are highly differentiated from other currently approved and investigational therapies that target PI3K or mTOR alone or together. Gedatolisib phase 3 clinical development programs are focused on the treatment of patients with HR /HER2- ABC in the 1L and 2L settings. A Phase 1b/2 clinical trial evaluating gedatolisib in combination with darolutamide in patients with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer, is on-going.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $270,000-$318,000 DOE. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.
The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus and a new hire equity package. Celcuity also offers various benefits offerings, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidays.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead strategic scientific communication plans and execute tactics targeting both internal and external audiences through medical communications materials, training, publications and medical information in collaboration with key stakeholders, aligned with medical strategy.
- Establish a strategic data generation strategy to address unmet needs, insights from the field and to inform ongoing publication, communication and med info planning.
- Lead strategic planning and the generation of Medical Information materials (e.g. scripted responses, Q&As, standard response letters, etc.) tracking, monitoring enquiry trends and metrics and proactively identifying unmet content needs and communicating product trends to the wider business.
- As part of the scientific communications plans, lead cross-functional global publication team meetings and drive the production of publications, often under tight timelines. Ensure that all materials are compliant, balanced, impactful and of the highest quality.
- Partner closely with field leadership and team to develop field-facing medical communication materials to educate HCPs on disease state, cell therapy, product specific information and data, proactively and reactively as appropriate.
- Establish and update scientific, narrative and platform, aligned with lexicon and data generation strategy.
- Manage vendors and ensure that deliverables are developed and using good practices and in a cost-effective manner.
- Establish and implement standard practices, processes and procedures for the work and ensures the appropriate and timely review and approval of any generated materials in accordance with relevant SOPs and local laws/codes of practice.
- Develop and maintain scientific and medical expertise through continuous learning and knowledge of scientific literature, disease and therapeutic landscape.
- Other duties as assigned.
- PharmD, PhD or other advanced degree.
- Five plus (5 ) years of oncology experience.
- Minimum ten (10) years in a pharma/biotech company, seven plus (7 ) years in Medical Affairs.
- Prior experience in scientific communication strategy (publications, medical communications, medical information).
- Strong understanding of GPP and other applicable industry guidelines, Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills, ability to incorporate feedback from multiple, diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strategic, scientific and business acumen.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities at the same time.
- Ability to manage through ambiguity, and comfort working in highly dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Organizational savvy and leverages internal network to enable alignment and effective execution.
- Must have excellent communication skills, a confident self-starter able to lead the development and execution of Scientific communications strategy.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, roll up sleeves and execute.
- Must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers, stakeholders, including medical opinion leaders, large group practices, medical directors and MCO professionals.
- Ability to manage without authority.
- Experience/expertise in interpretation and communication of scientific data, market research, competitive intelligence tools, and developing medical communication & educational content and strategies.
