Position Summary

Technician Level 1 processes customer orders, conducts time studies, and adheres to safety policies. Responsibilities include unpacking, labeling, inspecting, and pre-cleaning parts, loading/unloading parts onto electropolishing machines, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting shipping. The role also involves managing hazardous waste, rinsing parts, ensuring solvent containment, and performing oxygen, ultrasonic, and aqueous cleaning, as well as passivation processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Process customer orders per history sheets and/or supervisor's instructions.

· Complete time studies pertaining to customer orders utilizing a logical approach.

· Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and training provided.

· Unpack parts, count and record quantities, and label parts and containers accurately.

· Inspect and pre-clean parts with various cleaning agents. This may include power washing parts. Complete the post cleaning process.

· Overhead hoist operation.

· Collaborate closely with co-workers and other departments to complete tasks.

· Provide support to the shipping department as needed.

Hazardous Waste

· Place non-hazardous waste such as gloves & paper towels into plastic satellite drums.

· Place hazardous waste solvent contaminated gloves into designated plastic satellite drums.

· Rinse EP Fluid & Nitric Acid off parts with water into rinse water collection areas.

· Place EP Fluid and Nitric Acid contaminated filters into hazardous waste satellite drums.

· Place EP Salts and Nitric Acid Salts from tank clean-out into hazardous waste satellite drums.

· Ensure proper containment of solvents throughout all stages of the cleaning procedures.

Oxygen/Ultrasonic/Aqueous Cleaning:

· Load/unload parts in/out of ultrasonic cleaning system and rinse cleaned products.

· Load/unload parts in/out of continuous aqueous cleaning and drying system.

· Assist experienced oxygen cleaning technicians with support as directed.

Passivation:

· Load/unload parts into baskets & place/remove parts in/out of passivation bath and rinse finished product.

Electropolishing:

· Use of simple pre-designed un-fielded racks, pin racks & clamp to bar custom racking – primarily OD only applications.

· Load and unload parts onto and from the automated electropolishing machine conveyance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Related work experience preferred.
  • Communicates in a clear, professional manner and exercises proper etiquette toward supervisors and fellow employees.
  • Listens to instructions and asks questions to gain understanding of procedures.
  • Able to interpret written instructions from supervisors and customers.
  • Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan assigned work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Project Management Skills:
  • Read and interpret work orders/blueprints for practical application.
  • Properly utilize required documentation, labeling, and work tracking procedures.
  • Read and interpret specifications and work history information for practical application.

· Proficient in both verbal and written English communication.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

· Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms.

  • Requirement to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and sit regularly.
  • Requirement to work on feet for extended periods of time.

· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision with or without the usage of glasses. The usage of contacts is prohibited for safety.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually high.

· The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
