Job Summary
The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading a team of chemical operators to execute a production schedule across multiple batch reactors. This involves developing each operator and upholding the standards of the production team.
Main Responsibilities
- Model Celanese leader expectations and actively coach chemical operators to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Evaluate, execute, and provide feedback on the production schedule, ensuring the team is prepared to execute and communicate any gaps if the schedule cannot be executed.
- Engage in day-to-day activities with each chemical operator, understanding constraints that prevent them from being successful and helping them work through those constraints to their level of proficiency.
- Consider variables from multiple sources, evaluate, and plan the path forward, understanding details before moving forward.
- Give and receive regular feedback to develop people and self, addressing performance issues through coaching.
- Work with the learning facilitator to support and create training plans for each chemical operator.
- Set high expectations regarding PPE and safety rules, 100% right-first-time quality, respect for procedures and equipment, and the plant.
- Ensure achievement of the four core principles of Stewardship, Quality, Reliability, and Engagement in fulfilling the production schedule and developing the team.
