Duties
- Deliver structured swim lessons tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring activities and enforcing water safety rules
- Incorporate fun and motivating teaching techniques to encourage participation and skill mastery
- Assist with organizing aquatic activities such as water games, sports, or martial arts like Karate or Judo to enhance engagement
- Manage behavior and maintain a positive learning environment through effective behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to plan programs that promote physical activity, including basketball, cheerleading, climbing, or gymnastics
- Conduct regular safety checks of pool facilities and equipment to uphold health standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a lifeguard or in sports coaching, teaching, or childcare is highly desirable
- Knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety protocols is essential
- Strong skills in behavior management and creating inclusive environments for children and youth
- Certification in lifeguarding or water safety instruction is preferred
- Passion for promoting healthy lifestyles through swimming, sports, and recreational activities
