SUMMARY:
- The Construction Manager oversees planning, coordination, and execution of moderate to complex construction projects. Manages vendor supervisors and foremen for multiple capital projects at plant or site. Works with engineering service providers, contractors, and field support teams (e.g., maintenance, design validation, commissioning, quality, and safety specialists).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR 8 years of combined education/experience.
- 4 years of natural gas-fired power plant experience
- Owners Rep experience
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in project scheduling, cost control, earned value, resource loading, and document control.
- Ability to read construction drawings/specs; knowledge of OSHA and environmental standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist Project Managers with planning, cost estimates, schedules, and oversight of capital projects. Monitor costs and schedules; manage RFIs and change orders.
- Allocate resources and coordinate stakeholder support.
- Drive milestone achievement; manage risks, opportunities, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Define and enforce project quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate construction documentation (redlines, as-builts).
