CEIS | Government is looking for a Safety Professional to join our growing team. The position will involve full-time on-site work with a Department of Energy client in Albuquerque, NM. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and individually.

The Safety Manager will be able to:

  • Identify ES&H safety issues and reporting concerns to SDRs.
  • Provide high level Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise in construction and industrial safety rubrics.
  • Provide ES&H safety management in an oversight role of jobsites.
  • Provide guidance and interpretations of Federal, State, DOE and NTESS safety and health regulations and policies for implementation into the NTESS Programs.
  • Conduct OSHA and safety related inspections.
  • Establish and maintain required records and reports.
  • Review and comment on safety aspects of Subcontractor safety plans, reviewing and providing safety guidance and interpretation for job site hazard assessments.
  • Provide additional health and safety support as requested by the SDR.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Submit Weekly project reports (with photos as needed).
  • Provide monthly briefings to NTESS Program Management or as requested. Briefings or reports shall address OSHA, DOE and NTESS Safety & Health program metrics and data as requested.
  • Provide quarterly safety metrics report summaries and interpretations for OSHA required metrics and Behavior Based Safety (BBS) programs as requested.
  • Process jobsite safety assessments within expected turnaround times (typically five (5) days or sooner, if requested).
  • Process review of Subcontractor Safety Plans within expected turnaround times (typically five (5) days or sooner, if requested).

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree and seven (7) years of experience in construction and industrial safety or other related safety field; or have a B.A. or B.S. degree and 4 years of similar experience. Degree must be in a safety, fire science, industrial hygiene, or a related ES&H safety field as an alternative, no degree with ten (10) years of experience.
  • Knowledge and application of OSHA 20 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) procedures and construction practices.
  • Completed OSHA ten (10) hour training.
