Finance Project Manager - Global Markets Operations

Overview: The Operations Project Manager is responsible for managing strategic and transformational projects that support business change initiatives. This role works on multi-disciplinary projects requiring broad organizational knowledge and full-time commitment. Strong quantitative, analytical, project management, and business analysis skills are required. The position is hybrid in Jersey City, New Jersey, and supports long-term operational and regulatory initiatives.ResponsibilitiesManage and lead assigned projects to completion with delivery of agreed objectives, working closely with Front Office, Operations, Finance, IT, Compliance, Legal, and Risk teamsAssist in structuring projects and create and maintain governance agreed upon by all partiesDrive delivery by maintaining project plans, organizing follow-up meetings, and creating and distributing meeting minutesEnsure clear communication of goals, risks, progress, remediation initiatives, and upcoming project milestonesUse business analysis skills and product knowledge to support end-to-end resolution of platform and process issuesCoordinate, track, and report on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activitiesManage multiple initiatives of varying scale across different business perimetersIdentify risks, issues, and dependencies and propose solutions and next stepsEngage and coordinate teams not directly under a formal reporting lineCommunicate effectively with senior stakeholders and adapt messaging based on audienceQualifications7–10 years of professional experience in project management and/or product development rolesExperience with Global Markets activities, including trade processing flows and settlement processes across cash equities, listed options, fixed income, and derivative productsExpertise in treasury cash and repo workflows, central clearing processes, and financial regulationsStrong experience delivering regulatory change and technology-intensive initiativesProven expertise in project management and business analysis, including business requirements, process flows, procedures, and gap analysisDeep understanding of front-to-back trade flows and post-trade processing, clearing, and settlementStrong focus on process and risk awarenessExperience leading mid- to large-scale projects within financial institutionsProficiency with JIRA, UAT coordination, test pack structuring, and issue managementAdvanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to multitask, adapt quickly, and manage complex situations involving people, processes, and systemsStrong stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and communication skillsAbout the ClientThe client is a global financial services organization with a strong international presence, supporting corporate and institutional clients across banking, capital markets, securities services, and asset management.
