Civil Engineer II

Location: Mineral, VA w/ $100 per diem for non-local candidates
Assignment Length: 3 Years
Work Model: Hybrid; W2

• Apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to support design and project execution.
• Perform structural design and analysis of steel and concrete components (e.g., pipe supports, junction boxes, foundations).
• Conduct seismic analysis and design for mounting components and equipment.
• Interpret and apply industrial codes and standards (ACI, ASCE, ASME).
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams (mechanical, electrical, regulatory) to develop integrated solutions.
• Prepare and review technical documentation to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
• Support field implementation teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently and contribute to project planning and execution.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Top Technical Skills:
  • Structural design of steel and concrete components
  • Familiarity with ACI, ASCE, ASME codes
  • Seismic analysis and design experience

• Experience with Nuclear Standard Design Process or Design Change qualification
• Prior experience as a Responsible Engineer at a nuclear facility
• Proficiency with engineering software such as Mathcad, GTStrudl, STADD, ANSyS
• Finite Element Modeling experience

• Strong collaboration and communication across disciplines
• Adaptability and problem-solving in complex, regulated environments
• High attention to detail and documentation rigor
• Initiative and ownership of tasks and deliverables
• Ability to engage stakeholders and support field teams effectively
