Interested in a career in a financial institution? CEFCU currently has a full-time Mortgage Loan Originator position open in our Gilroy location.
Responsibilities and Duties
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Solicit first mortgage referrals by calling on realtors, builders, and Select Employer Groups (SEGs) as assigned
- Presents the features and benefits of all CEFCU mortgage products and services
- Prequalify members for mortgage loans
- Complete applications and cross-sell other CEFCU products/services
- Communicate with members and underwriters on the status of pending applications
- Assist team processors and closing coordinators when necessary
- Interview applicants over the phone as well as in-person
- Follow up on applications submitted online
- Contribute to business objectives through exceptional performance
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and personal vehicle insurance.
- Previous lending experience of at least two years
- Ability to maintain highest level of accuracy under ongoing peak volume conditions
- Training will be completed in locations in San Jose/Santa Clara - flexibility to commute for training is required.
Hours of Operation
Monday – Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Availability to work at least two Saturdays per month
Sunday - Generally scheduled off
