AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/20/2026

Join our growing, award-winning team! The CEDR Solution Center Specialist role is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, critical thinking, and a desire to build expertise in human resources. The ideal candidate is an eager learner who can absorb and apply new information, understand complex situations, and communicate practical solutions with clarity and confidence.

This specialized role requires strong reading comprehension, attention to detail, sound judgment, and intensive training. Prior HR experience is valuable but not required. We are seeking someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems, and can balance identifying potential concerns with helping others move toward solutions. The right person is receptive to feedback, eager to learn from experienced professionals, and motivated to grow into a CEDR HR Advisor role.

If you're someone who likes digging into the details, thinking through the gray areas, and turning complicated HR issues into clear, actionable guidance, you might be exactly who we're looking for.

About the Job

Our members are primarily owners and managers of dental and medical practices across the country. They come to us with real situations involving real employees, and they need more than someone who can recite the rules.

They need someone who can help them figure out what to do next.

CEDR Solution Center Specialists provide support, guidance, consultation, and training. We approach each interaction seeking to understand the member's business needs and help them navigate employee challenges with practical, informed, and actionable guidance.

Solution Center Specialists work alongside HR and employment law experts to learn how to:

  • Provide practical HR guidance. Consult with business owners and managers on employee relations, performance management, discipline, terminations, leave, accommodations, wage-and-hour issues, and other workplace challenges.
  • Help members make informed decisions. Go beyond explaining legal requirements to identify options, evaluate risks, and recommend practical approaches that account for both compliance and business needs.
  • Ask the right questions. Get to the heart of a situation by gathering relevant facts, recognizing what's missing, and understanding what the member is trying to accomplish.
  • Develop and review workplace policies. Guide members through customized employee handbook reviews, help them make thoughtful policy decisions, and explain how to apply those policies in practice.
  • Research and apply employment laws. Navigate federal, state, and local requirements, using CEDR's internal resources and collaborating with experienced colleagues when needed.
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence. Provide thoughtful guidance through phone consultations and written communications, including when the right recommendation isn't necessarily what a member wants to hear.
  • Collaborate and keep learning. Work alongside a team of HR professionals who share knowledge, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve how we serve our members.

What Makes Someone Successful Here?

You'll likely thrive in this role if you:

  • Are comfortable with gray areas. You don't expect every situation to have a perfect answer, and you can evaluate competing considerations to help find a decision
  • Have good judgment. You know when to be decisive, when to ask more questions, and when to seek another perspective.
  • Can be confidently candid. You're comfortable giving direct, professional advice, while meeting our members where they’re at.
  • Are naturally curious. You don't stop at the first answer. You want to understand the “why” behind a situation.
  • Communicate like a human. You can explain complicated concepts without sounding like a legal textbook, and communicate in a way that builds trust with our members.
  • Take ownership. You care about helping members reach a useful outcome, not simply closing out a conversation.
  • Welcome feedback. You're open to coaching, willing to challenge your own thinking, and motivated to keep getting better.

What We’re Looking For:

We value experience, but we also recognize that strong HR professionals come from different backgrounds.

You may have worked in HR management, employee relations, HR consulting, retail management, operations, or another role where you've handled workplace challenges and helped people make important decisions.

What matters most is your ability to demonstrate:

  • Strong critical thinking, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound professional judgment and a willingness to seek guidance when appropriate.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and learn new systems.
  • A desire to learn

A degree in human resources or a related field, or a professional HR certification, is preferred but not required.

Experience supporting small businesses, advising business owners, or navigating multistate employment requirements is a plus.

What It's Like to Work at CEDR

CEDR isn't a traditional HR department.

We're a team of HR professionals who help employers across the country navigate the challenges of managing people and running a business. That means you'll encounter a wide variety of situations, learn something new regularly, and develop expertise that goes well beyond what you might experience in a single-company HR role.

We take our work seriously, but we don't believe professionalism requires being stuffy. We value clear communication, thoughtful collaboration, curiosity, accountability, and people who genuinely care about doing good work. We also believe great HR experts are developed, not just hired. You'll have access to experienced colleagues, extensive HR resources, structured training, and ongoing coaching. As you develop your knowledge, judgment, and confidence, you'll have opportunities to take on increasingly complex work.

We have high expectations because our members depend on us. We also believe in providing the support, tools, and feedback people need to meet those expectations.
