BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Using approved procedures prepares hot and cold food for cooking.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
• Assists in stocking all storage areas of the main kitchen.
• Reads prep lists and at the direction of the Sous Chef performs all functions listed.
• Prep duties include; slicing, dicing, chopping and breading meats, fish, and vegetables and storing them in the prepared cooler with proper labels and dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes all work areas of the kitchen.
• Will act as steward when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
• A minimum of six months of commercial kitchen exposure.
• Demonstrated aptitude for sanitary food handling. Ability to obtain food handlers card.
• Ability to read instructions.
• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
