Job Summary
Nutrition Services III shall be responsible for executing food service at the designated site by preparing meals approved by Registered Dietician that meet all USDA child nutrition program requirements and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained. Complete required paperwork in a timely manner, assist with local grocery shopping and fiscal responsibility to the food budget. This includes being an active member of the Nutrition Services team to meet the nutritional needs of each client.
This position must stay in compliance with the Nebraska Food Code and the USDA Child Nutrition Programs National School Lunch (NSLP) and Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to clients in CEDARS care.
- Maintain a clean environment of all food areas and appliances in CEDARS kitchen and dining room.
- Ensure appropriate health standards are maintained in the food service area.
- Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a commercial kitchen setting and knowledge of food preparation,meal service, nutrition, safety and sanitation protocols.
- Seeking a self-motivated, positive person with a passion and desire to serve nutritious meals and maintain a clean environment while working in CEDARS food service.
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record and access to a vehicle.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must have or obtain within 30 days, a state of Nebraska food handler’s permit (Prep Cook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.
- Concrete problem-solving skills with ability to identify what needs to be done and the most efficient way to complete it.
- Highly organized to work independently with minimal supervision within a fast-paced environment.
