Reports To: Assistant Program Director
Classification: Non-Exempt
Schedule: M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM with occasional evenings and rotating on call.
Rate of Pay: $23.00
Job Summary
The Placement Coordinator shall be responsible for all placements for the Foster Care program. This position ensures that youth are matched with homes that best meet their needs while supporting foster parents through clear communication, thoughtful planning, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for emergency and planned placements for Foster Care. Identify and contact foster homes that best match the needs of each youth.
- Support recruitment and retention efforts by identifying trends and home type needs.
- Participate in the weekly supervisor on-call rotation to assist with after-hours placement needs and emergencies.
- Document complete and accurate client information according to the organization’s policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and timely documentation for program records.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and license requirements are followed.
- Be an advocate for foster and biological families in the foster care system.
- Participate in on-going professional development by attending pertinent continuing education workshops and courses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of CEDARS.
- Maintain professional boundaries in the provision of services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or closely related field and a minimum of two years’ work-related experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Strong relationship skills, organizational and communication skills and can work with both internal and external teams and community partners.
- Ability to motivate a wide range of current and potential resource families and community members.
- A genuine interest in and concern for all youth and families.
- Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients and families CEDARS serves.
- Ability to work with other professionals in the organization and the community.
- Ability to represent CEDARS in a positive and professional manner.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Excellent computer skills.
