As a per diem Speech Language Pathologist in Acute Therapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca, you will have comprehensive knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical physical disabilities setting.
What will you be doing?
- Perform evaluations
- Demonstrate appropriate treatment interventions and strategies
- Complete discharge planning for patients
- Knowledge and experience with bedside swallow evaluations and cognitive/communication evaluations
- The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.
- Graduate of an accredited SLP program
- Valid and current license as a SLP in the state of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing therapist; preferably in an acute care setting. Experience working with the electronic health record preferred.
- Able to push, pull, lift or carry 0-35 pounds on an intermittent basis;
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat consistently in order to safely administer manual exercises and techniques;
- Able to assist patient with physical activities such as transfers, bed mobility, and ambulation.
- Able to identify need for an arrange assistance to maintain safe techniques.
Salary : $48 - $77
