What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director, Strategy position at CEDARS-SINAI?
The Executive Director, Strategy & Business Development serves as an advisor to the Vice President and the Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, making strategic and operational recommendations related to the health system, its management, and future direction. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the development of Cedars-Sinai's strategic planning and business development processes.
- Is responsible for the oversight and development of strategic plans for all of Cedars-Sinai including the Medical Center, its affiliates, and Medical Care Foundation. Participates in Cedars-Sinai’s strategy development process including the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Develops and leads the implementation of short and long-range goals and objectives (operational, development and financial) which are realistic, objectively measurable, and aligned to support to the organization’s strategic plan.
- Identifies and develops business plans for the growth and expansion of Cedars-Sinai Health System, including its medical center, the academic programs, the medical network, and affiliates.
- Provides strategic leadership to support new enterprises and affiliations with health care delivery systems and effectively integrates services for optimum efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Collaborates with other Cedars-Sinai executives in the decision-making process for new business plans. Negotiates and finalizes business relationships with other entities.
- Negotiates and structures a broad range of health care transactions and due diligence; represents Cedars-Sinai in the development of strategic business alliances.
- Reviews existing business units, divisions, departments and programs and identifies new business development opportunities, values, and appraises potential targets.
- Leads generation of business development plans and ideas for new ventures to support Cedars-Sinai’s mission and oversees implementation.
- Fosters continuous improvement of existing plans and strategies. Identifies and implements new strategies to meet the mission of the health system.
- Integrates and coordinates business unit plans within overarching health system plans.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration, Business Management, Healthcare Administration, and/or related - Required Minimum
Master's Degree - Business Administration, Finance, Health Care, or Health Care Administration - Preferred
Experience:
10 Years - Strategy and business development leadership experience preferably in a similar role preferably at a large, diverse health care delivery systems or management consulting organizations. Required Minimum
