Cedars of Marin provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1919, our exceptional person-centered programs and services have supported individuals in living creative, productive, joyful, and healthy lives for more than a century.
Cedars Textile Collaborative (TAC) offers Cedars clients fun, inspiring, and creative day programs. We are currently looking for a compassionate and skilled part-time Senior Program Instructor to join our Senior Program!
As a Senior Program Instructor, you will work with Cedars clients to determine and plan meaningful daily activities that promote engagement, creativity, and connection. Activities may include community-based projects, volunteer opportunities, and on-site music, art, and other creative projects.
The TAC Program is set on more than two dozen acres overlooking San Anselmo. This beautiful, remote property includes a community garden, art barn studio space, upgraded kitchen, weaving studio, and more!
This position will require some degree of hands-on caregiving (including assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, etc.) based on each participant’s individual needs. The hours for the Senior Instructor are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. / The hours for the Garden Instructor are Fridays from 8 AM - 4:00 PM. The rate of pay is $21.75/hour.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled people is preferred.
- Experience with or willingness to learn to provide direct caregiving when needed.
- Experience leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of people.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- The ability to teach and provide skills in the program areas offered at TAC.
- Willingness to pitch in when/where needed.
- Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the job.
- A valid DMV driver's license, a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and a willingness to drive a passenger van.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
- A good sense of humor is a plus!
