Vacancy 1 Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-11:30am
Vacancy 2 Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-1:15pm
Vacancy 3 Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:45am - 2:45pm
In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), assisting students with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive, engaging learning environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help empower students to reach their full potential, ensuring they receive the personalized attention and support they deserve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children in a dynamic educational setting, promoting growth, independence, and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored instructional activities aligned with curriculum standards and IEP goals.
- Support students with disabilities by implementing behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in literacy, math, and other core subjects to promote academic success.
- Help create a safe, nurturing classroom environment through effective classroom management and child-centered activities.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and facilitating social skills development.
- Assist with classroom routines, including lesson planning, curriculum development, and activity setup for early childhood or preschool-aged children.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Support students’ needs during transitions, meal times, and other daily routines to ensure consistency and comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavior incidents, and IEP implementation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs in classroom or childcare settings.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and specialists.
- Skilled in behavior management strategies to foster positive classroom behavior and social interactions.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles within a Montessori or preschool framework.
- Classroom management expertise combined with patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with children of varying abilities.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and curriculum development for special education programs.
- Experience supporting literacy education and math instruction is preferred.
