Summary of Role
CIG is seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong commercial construction and data center expertise to lead the delivery of large-scale, high-impact projects. This role requires hands-on leadership in construction execution, vendor coordination, and stakeholder management, with a particular focus on document control, change management, and large-scale project management.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex builds on time and within budget, while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee all phases of data center and commercial construction projects, from planning and design through execution, commissioning, and turnover.
- Vendor & Contractor Oversight: Manage relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contract terms.
- Document Control & Change Management: Maintain accurate project documentation, manage RFIs, submittals, and ensure effective tracking of changes, scope adjustments, and approvals.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost reports, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with business objectives.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies; ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, and executive leadership to ensure projects align with company strategy and client needs.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as primary point of contact for project status, progress updates, and critical issue resolution.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure quality standards are met and projects are delivered to client and company expectations.
Required Experience
- 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in commercial construction and/or data center projects.
- Strong expertise in document control systems, change order processes, and construction project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex builds with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel to active project sites across the U.S. as needed.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management preferred but not required.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or LEED Accreditation are highly valued.
