Cedar Valley Community Support Services, Inc. (CVCSS) has an immediate opening for a part-time Direct Care Professional (DCP) in our Waterloo Day Habilitation Program. This position is responsible for assisting individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and developmental disabilities in developing and maintaining life skills and community integration to help them live as independently as possible.
DCPs assist members with activities tailored to each individual's unique needs, goals, and interests. Through recreational, social, and community-based activities, you will help foster personal growth, independence, and meaningful relationships in a supportive and engaging environment. Whether on-site or out in the community, you'll play an important role in helping individuals develop new skills and live life to the fullest.
Part-Time Schedule
- Approximately 18 hours per week
- Three (3) shifts per week
- Six (6) hours per shift
- Preferred hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Optional weekend activities may be available based on member interests and program needs
- Some training hours will need to occur during regular Monday-Friday daytime business hours
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Current auto insurance required
- Good driving record required
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and mental health diagnoses
- All required training is provided
Compensation
Starting wage is $14.00 per hour, with opportunities for higher wages based on experience and education. There is no hourly wage maximum.
